Introduction:    

Upper Dolpo & Kang-la pass adventure, an exclusive and special journey towards Nepal’s Far North West Himalaya, truly a wild-wild western region of Nepal where trekkers and adventurer often visits the isolate and remote areas of Dolpo, due to its accessibility and length of the journey, where several flights involves from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj city and at Jhupal in Dolpo and back via same route to Kathmandu.

Truly a destination where it takes you to remote wilderness in the country of rare and elusive Snow Leopard and herds of Blue Sheep with other mountains wild-life, and exploring the hidden culture of Dolpo people of Tibetan origin, where you can witness Bon sect and its ancient practices of natural spirits and rites along with Buddhism similar to Tibetan culture and traditional way of life.

Walk leads you around Nepal’s largest national park of Shey & Phuksumdo with areas of 3,555 sq.kms covering whole Dolpo and as far to further North West Mugu districts

The Dolpo region with green forest of blue pine, spruce, cypress, poplar, deodar, birch, rhododendron and birch tree lines and as the walk advances heading higher where tree lines fades to short juniper bushes and alpine shrubs within arid and dry country of Tibetan dry plateau landscapes.

First adventure leads you to turquoise colored Phuksumdo Lake around Ringmo village and then heading due remote north at Shey Gompa the Crystal Monastery after crossing a high Kang-la pass, after a peaceful and fascinating moment our adventure leads to cross few high scenic passes to reach at Dho-Tarapp River valley through lovely villages of Somdang and Tokyu of immense culture and traditions.

Finally our walk leads to famous historical village at Tarakot the fort village of early Malla regime period, and then a short drive leads at Dunai the major town of Dolpo to reach at Jhupal for the flight back to Kathmandu, after an incredible journey on Upper Dolpo & Kang-la pass adventure with grand services of Xtreme Climbers and its expert friendly guide and staff.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 02: In Kathmandu morning sightseeing afternoon fly to Nepalgunj.
Day 03: Fly to Jhupal 2,475 m then drive to Dunai 2,140 m – 02 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Chhepka 2,838 m – 06 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Samdua village 2,960m -06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Phuksumdo Lake 3,630 m – 06 hours.
Day 07: Rest day at Phuksumdo Lake for local excursion.
Day 08: Trek to Phokshumdo-Khola 3,750 m- 05 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Phuksumdo Bhanjyang 4,717 m – 04 hrs.
Day 10: Cross Kang-La 5,350 m and trek to Shey Gompa 4,160 m via -06 hrs.
Day 11: Rest day at Shey Gompa the crystal monastery.
Day 12: Trek to Namgung 4,608 m via Sela (Gela) La 5,094m.
Day 13: Trek to Saldang 3,770 m – 05 hours.
Day 14: Trek to Chagaon 4,910 m – 05 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Dachu Khola camp at 4,700 m – 06 hrs.
Day 16: Trek and cross Jyanta-La at 5,220 m and walk to Phedi 4,900 m – 06 hrs.
Day 17: Trek to Tokyu Gaon 4,209 m – 06 hrs.
Day 18: Trek to Dho Tarap 3, 944 m- 05 hrs.
Day 19: Trek to Ghyamgar 3,759 m – 07 hrs.
Day 20: Trek to Tarap Khola 3,652 via Chhyugar 3,440 m – 06 hours.
Day 21: Trek to Tarakot 2,540 m – 06 hrs.
Day 22: Trek to Dunai – 05 hrs then drive to Jhupal – 02 hr jeep ride.
Day 23: Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel.
Day 24: In Kathmandu free day at leisure.
Day 25: International departure for home ward bound.
