The Jean Coudery Waterfall Ice Climbing expedition in the Langtang Valley offers a fantastic opportunity to experience Himalayan ice climbing on a scenic and accessible frozen waterfall. This climb consists of three distinct pitches, each requiring different levels of technical skills. The first pitch is graded WI4, presenting a more technical ascent, while the second and third pitches are graded WI3, suitable for intermediate climbers. With each pitch approximately 50 meters in length, this adventure allows climbers to challenge themselves in a spectacular alpine setting.

Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) Kathmandu: Arrival in Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft] Arrive at any time, Xtreme Climbers vehicle and represent we'll pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to the hotel. Your included activities consist of refreshments, an introduction to your guide, as well as an introduction on The Trek. Meal includes:Breakfast
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m)
- Description: Begin the journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to Langtang Valley.
- Driving Hours: 7-8 hours

Day 03: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m)
- Description: Follow the Langtang River and trek through forests and small villages to reach Lama Hotel, located in a serene forested area.
- Trekking Hours: 5-6 hours

Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m)
- Description: Continue the trek up the valley, passing Ghoda Tabela and enjoying views of the Langtang Lirung range. Reach Langtang Village, which offers a glimpse of the local Tamang culture.

Day 05: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,800m), Acclimatization
- Description: A short trek to Kyanjin Gompa, where we’ll acclimate to the altitude. Afternoon exploration of the village and surrounding viewpoints to adjust to the elevation.
- Trekking Hours: 3-4 hours

Day 06: Trek to Jean Coudery Waterfall Base Camp, Climb Preparation
- Description: Trek to the Jean Coudery Waterfall, set up base camp, and prepare for the climb. Conduct an initial briefing on techniques and safety for the climb.

Day 07: Ice Climbing on Jean Coudery Waterfall – Pitches 1 to 3 (WI4 & WI3)
- Description: Start the climb on the waterfall, beginning with the first pitch rated WI4, which requires advanced techniques. Follow this with two more pitches, each graded WI3, offering thrilling yet manageable climbs.
- Climbing Duration: Full day of climbing

Day 08: Return Trek from Jean Coudery Waterfall Base Camp to Lama Hotel
- Description: Retrace our steps and descend from the base camp to Lama Hotel, enjoying views of the Langtang Valley as we return.
- Trekking Hours: 5-6 hours

Day 09: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi, Drive back to Kathmandu
- Description: Complete the trek with a final descent to Syabrubesi, followed by a drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of the expedition.

Day 10: Final Departure, Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. A representative from Xtreme Climbers will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal. Included meals:Breakfast

Cost includes
- Overland Transport: Airport/Hotel/Airport transfers.
- Hotel accommodation: Two nights 3***(Twin Sharing Room) BB Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu as per the scheduled itinerary.
- Accommodation during the Trip: Tea house lodge and Tented Accommodation during the trekking and Climbing.
- Transportation during the trip: Round-trip drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi with private reserved 4WD Jeep.
- Accommodation: Lodges and tented camps during climbing.
- Meals: All meals during the trek and ice-climbing period (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
- Professional Guide and Instructor: Experienced ice climbing guide and climbing instructor.

Cost Excludes
- Airfare: International flight airfare (from and to Kathmandu).
- Nepal entry Visa fee: Nepal Visa fee USD 60 per person for 30 days (to be applied for 60 days (USD 120).
- Lunch & Dinner: Lunch & dinner during the stay in Kathmandu (also in case of an earlier return from Trekking / Expedition than the scheduled itinerary).
- Extra night in Kathmandu: Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu & Pokhara. In case of early arrival or late departure, early return from Trekking / Expedition (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
- Insurance: Travel and high altitude insurance, accident, medical & emergency evacuation.
- Rescue Evacuation: Medical Insurance and emergency rescue evacuation costs if required. (Rescue, Repatriation, Medication, Medical Tests, and Hospitalization costs.) Horse renting and additional porters during the trek.
- Personal Expenses: Telephone, Internet, battery recharge, Hot shower, Laundry, any Alcoholic beverages & soft drinks (during the trek and in Kathmandu but we will serve all kinds of beverages for members in base camp), and also Clothing, Packing Items or Bags, Personal Medical Kit, Personal Trekking /Climbing Gears. Any costs that arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, political disturbance, strikes etc.
- Filming: Special Filming, Camera, and Drone permit fee.
- Internet Service: Internet services are not included in this cost.
- Tips: Calculate some tips for Base camp staff.
- Extra: Additional costs or delays caused by management out of control like landscape, bad weather conditions, in case of itinerary modification with a view to safety concerns, illness, change of government policy, political instability strike, moment Or any other services or activities, which are not mentioned in the itinerary Or any other item not listed in the “Cost Includes” section.
