The Nornep Waterfall Ice Climbing expedition is a thrilling journey set in the Everest region, near Thame and close to the Khumbu Bijuli Power House. With an impressive vertical drop of 770 meters, this waterfall offers a challenging climb rated at WI4 (Water Ice) and MI4 (Mixed Ice). Ideal for intermediate to advanced ice climbers, this expedition provides the unique opportunity to climb one of the tallest ice walls in the Khumbu region, surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan scenery. Participants will gain experience in advanced ice climbing techniques while exploring the culture and natural beauty of the Everest region.
The 10-day expedition includes a trek from Lukla to Thame, days dedicated to ice climbing with expert instruction, and immersive cultural encounters in the remote Sherpa village of Thame.

Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) Kathmandu: Arrival in Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft] Arrive at any time, Xtreme Climbers vehicle and represent we'll pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to the hotel. Your included activities consist of refreshments, an introduction to your guide, as well as an introduction on The Trek. Meal includes:Breakfast
Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla (Flight) and Trek to Phakding: Start with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m), a thrilling journey that takes approximately 30 minutes. From Lukla, begin a scenic trek through the Dudh Koshi Valley to reach Phakding (2,610m). This moderate hike serves as a warm-up for the days ahead and allows some initial acclimatization.

Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar: After breakfast, continue trekking toward Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the gateway to the Everest region. Today’s trek includes crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River and entering Sagarmatha National Park. The trail is challenging but rewarding, with increasingly beautiful views of the surrounding peaks. Arrive in Namche Bazaar and spend the evening exploring this famous Sherpa town.

Day 04: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame (3,820m)
- Description: Begin the trek to Thame, a remote village known for its traditional Sherpa culture and stunning mountain views. This is the final stop before reaching the climbing area.

Day 05: Climb Preparation and Acclimatization at Thame
- Description: Spend the day preparing for the climb, checking gear, and acclimatizing to the altitude. Optional short hike around Thame to help with acclimatization.

Day 06: Trek to Nornep Waterfall Base Camp and Ice Climbing Preparation
- Description: Trek to the Nornep Waterfall base camp near Khumbu Bijuli Power House. Set up base camp, review climbing techniques, and prepare for the ice climbing experience.

Day 07-08: Ice Climbing at Nornep Waterfall (770m, WI4 & MI4)
- Description: Begin climbing the spectacular Nornep Waterfall. The challenging 770-meter climb will be tackled over two days, allowing for acclimatization and skill improvement. Day 6 focuses on the lower sections, while Day 7 tackles the upper, more advanced sections.

Day 09: Trek from Thame to Monjo
- Description: Descend from Nornep Waterfall to Thame, then continue trekking back to Monjo via lunch at Namche Bazaar. Reflect on the adventure and enjoy a comfortable night in Monjo.
- Trekking Hours: 6-7 hours

Day 10: Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2,840m) – 5-6 hours
- Activities: Enjoy a leisurely trek back to Lukla, passing familiar trails and savoring the last views of the Dudh Koshi River and surrounding peaks.

Day 11: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner
- Activities: Morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Rest of the day at leisure for exploring Kathmandu. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner organized by Xtreme Climbers, celebrating the adventure and sharing experiences.
Overnight / Included Meals: Hotel in Kathmandu / Breakfast, Dinner
Day 12: Final Departure, Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. A representative from Xtreme Climbers will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal. Included meals:Breakfast

- Travel & Rescue arrangement: Travel & Rescue arrangements can be arranged over One call in case of any emergency during the trip.

- Airfare: International flight airfare (from and to Kathmandu).
- Nepal entry Visa fee: Nepal Visa fee USD 60 per person for 30 days (to be applied for 60 days (USD 120).
- Lunch & Dinner: Lunch & dinner during the stay in Kathmandu (also in case of an earlier return from Trekking / Expedition than the scheduled itinerary).
- Extra night in Kathmandu: Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu & Pokhara. In case of early arrival or late departure, early return from Trekking / Expedition (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
- Insurance: Travel and high altitude insurance, accident, medical & emergency evacuation.
- Rescue Evacuation: Medical Insurance and emergency rescue evacuation costs if required. (Rescue, Repatriation, Medication, Medical Tests, and Hospitalization costs.) Horse renting and additional porters during the trek.
- Personal Expenses: Telephone, Internet, battery recharge, Hot shower, Laundry, any Alcoholic beverages & soft drinks (during the trek and in Kathmandu but we will serve all kinds of beverages for members in base camp), and also Clothing, Packing Items or Bags, Personal Medical Kit, Personal Trekking /Climbing Gears. Any costs that arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, political disturbance, strikes etc.
