Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) Kathmandu: Arrival in Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft] Arrive at any time, Xtreme Climbers vehicle and represent we'll pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to the hotel. Your included activities consist of refreshments, an introduction to your guide, as well as an introduction on The Trek. Meal includes: Breakfast

 

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara

Option 1: Morning flight (25 minutes) to Pokhara, a serene lakeside city.

Option 2: 8-hour scenic drive to Pokhara.

  • Upon arrival, check into your hotel and explore the town at leisure.
  • Overnight in Pokhara.

 

Day 03: Pokhara to Kagbeni via Jomsom (14km, 250m ascent)

Option 1: Flight to Jomsom (20 minutes) and an easy 14km ride to Kagbeni.

Option 2: 8-hour jeep ride to Kagbeni via rugged mountain roads.

  • Adjust to the altitude and enjoy the views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
  • Overnight in Kagbeni, a quaint Tibetan village.

 

Day 04: Kagbeni to Muktinath via Jhong (18km, 1,000m ascent)

  • Ride uphill to Muktinath (3,900m), passing through Jhong village.
  • Explore the ancient monastery in Jhong and enjoy a scenic lunch break.
  • Arrive in Muktinath mid-afternoon and visit its sacred temples and monasteries.
  • Overnight in Muktinath.

 

Day 05: Muktinath to Samar (29km, 1,300m ascent, 1,200m descent)

  • Begin with a climb to the Gyu La Pass (4,066m).
  • Experience a thrilling 1,200m descent on technical single tracks to Chhusang.
  • Cross the Kali Gandaki River and climb towards Samar, one of the toughest sections of the journey.
  • Overnight in Samar, marking the beginning of Upper Mustang’s remote terrain.

 

Day 06: Samar to Ghami (28km, 1,000m ascent, 900m descent)

  • Cross five high passes: Bhena La, Yamdo La, Syanboch La, Nya La, and Ghami La.
  • Tackle challenging trails interspersed with rewarding descents.
  • Stop for lunch in Ghiling and reach Ghami by late afternoon.
  • Overnight in Ghami.

 

Day 07: Ghami to Lo Manthang via Dhakmar (25km, 1,080m ascent, 820m descent)

  • Cross two major passes, including a steep ascent to Choku La Pass.
  • Visit Dhakmar, a village with striking red cliffs, and explore Ghargomba Monastery.
  • Arrive at the ancient walled city of Lo Manthang and explore its history and culture.
  • Overnight in Lo Manthang.

 

Day 08: Lo Manthang to Chusar Caves (21km, 600m ascent, 600m descent) (Optional Rest Day)

  • Ride to Chusar to explore ancient cave dwellings and monasteries near the Chinese border.
  • Admire panoramic views of the Nilgiri and Annapurna ranges.
  • Immerse in the timeless culture of Upper Mustang.
  • Overnight in Lo Manthang.

 

Day 09: Lo Manthang to Yara (17km, 700m ascent, 790m descent)

  • Descend from Lo Manthang, riding through remote trails and traditional villages.
  • Overnight in Yara, known for its tranquil beauty.

 

Day 10: Yara to Tange (18km, 800m ascent, 1,000m descent)

  • Ride through challenging trails with spectacular mountain views.
  • Overnight in Tange, a village surrounded by rugged terrain.

 

Day 11: Tange to Chhusang (25km, 1,100m ascent, 1,500m descent)

  • Tackle long climbs and exhilarating descents.
  • Cross several high passes en route to Chhusang.
  • Overnight in Chhusang.

 

Day 12: Chhusang to Jomsom via Lupra Valley (22km, 340m ascent, 1,280m descent)

  • Shuttle to Muktinath and climb to Lupra Pass (4,100m).
  • Enjoy an 8km descent through Lupra Valley, dropping over 1,000m.
  • Rejoin the trails leading to Jomsom for the night.

 

Day 13: Jomsom to Pokhara

  • Take an early morning scenic flight to Pokhara.
  • Relax and celebrate the adventure in the vibrant lakeside town.
  • Overnight in Pokhara.

 

Day 14: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Option 1: Return to Kathmandu via a 6-10 hour scenic drive.

Option 2: A short 25-minute flight to Kathmandu.

  • In the afternoon, you are free to explore Kathmandu’s cultural landmarks and shop for souvenirs.
  • Overnight in Kathmandu.

 

Day 15: Final Departure, Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. A representative from Xtreme Climbers will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal. Included meals:Breakfast

  • Sightseeing: Sightseeing around historical monuments and entrance fees.
  • Extra night in Kathmandu and Lunch & Dinner: Extra night accommodation and Lunch & dinner during the stay in Kathmandu In case of early arrival or late departure, early return from Trekking / Expedition (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
