This remote and less frequented peak offers a challenging and rewarding climbing experience.
Churen was closed for climbing for some time and after several requests, the Nepal Government has opened for climbing again. Located on the Mid West of Nepal Churen Himalaya it is one of the least and toughest standing beasts to encounter. It is a part of the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve area at the Jaljala range of high ridges. Many mountaineering teams from different nations around the globe have successfully stood on top of this high technical mountain. The area is completely apart from the mainstream path offering super breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Gurja Himal, Churen Himal, and its wild valley.
Drive from Pokhara to Beni Bazaar Xtreme Climbers supporting crew will lead you to the foot of Churen Himal Base Camp which offers an opportunity to experience unspoiled and tranquil nature full of wild valleys, fast glacial streams, beautiful forest, wild animals as well as the beautiful Magar villages and spectacular closeup views of Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna 8091m, Gurja Himal 7193m and Churen Himal 7385m. for the classic and technical climb on top of this striking peak. A mesmerizing and fascinating adventure that involves a taste of almost all of the expeditions and trekking environments that Nepal has to offer. Churen Himal Climbing provides you with an opportunity to explore the pristine area of Churen Himal, where you will have the chance to visit massive and beautiful Dhorpatan hills and valleys. Our expedition’ encountered the nice and traditional farming villages of Chhetri, Magar, and Chhantyal villages, where Gurjagaon has the majority of Chhantyal, a near-extinct tribe of Nepal.
- Climbing any mountain especially 7000m and 8000m above is tough but highly rewarding as well. So, do prepare yourself Psychologically and Physically to withstand all possible hazards that may come across your path during the mountaineering journey.
- The expedition is EXTREMELY Challenging but worth it. Before the summit push, we will have enough time at the Base Camp where our supremely talented climbing Sherpa guide will train you very well to be in the Himalayas by providing you with all technical know-how and techniques.
- The summit lies at a higher altitude and can cause altitude sickness to anyone attempting the summit push. But proper acclimatization, reserved Oxygen which will be carried or transferred already at higher camps for emergency use, and support/assistance by our high altitude climbing Sherpa Guide will help you go through to reach the summit of your dream mountain. Above the higher camps, we will always have extra bottles of oxygen in case of emergencies. This is why one must go on an expedition to any of the 6 thousand before heading to any 7000m. This will not only help you gain experience in the high altitude but also familiarize you with all the gears and equipment while handling extremely cold temperatures, gaining great crampon skills on and on the rock, snow, ice, rappelling with a pack on, and using ascenders and jumars on a fixed-line. Along with tolerance at a high altitude, you need strength, endurance, and strong cardiovascular conditioning.
