Mera Peak, standing at 6,476 meters, is the highest trekking peak located along the border between the Everest and Makalu regions of Nepal. This peak is famed for offering breathtaking panoramic views of some of the world’s tallest mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Mera Peak's extensive, snow-covered slopes make it an ideal destination for backcountry skiing enthusiasts. The terrain features long descents, open bowls, and gentle ridges, providing a variety of skiing experiences that cater to different skill levels. While skiing at Mera Peak is not technically demanding or steep, it presents a unique challenge due to the high altitude.
Situated in the Mahalangur section, Barun sub-section of the Himalayas, Mera Peak lies within the Sagarmatha Zone of the Solukhumbu District in Nepal. The peak is classified as a trekking peak, offering a rewarding journey through some of the most stunning parts of the Himalayas. The trek to Mera Peak traverses pristine valleys with awe-inspiring scenery, making the journey itself as memorable as the destination. Mera boasts three main summits: Mera North (6,476m), Mera Central (6,470m), and Mera South (6,065m), each providing spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga, and many other prominent summits ranging from 6,000 to 7,000 meters.

Condition: Technically, Mera Peak is a non-technical peak that anyone can climb if they have some knowledge of previous climbing. Although it’s easy, you must have your own climbing gear that you are used to before, especially alpine or plastic boots, crampons, and harnesses which should fit you.

Best Time to Ski around Nepal’s Mountain: Generally, December and January “Winter season” skiing in Nepal will be performed. However, the perfect time will be in April and October due to the mass availability of snow at that moment. And of course, more snow offers more favorable conditions for skiing.

- Member transportation:
- Overland Transportation: Kathmandu-Ramachap-Kathmandu (142. km 3-4 hrs) By Jeep, Car, or Van as per group and scheduled itinerary.
- Domestic AIR Transportation: Fly from Ramechhap-Lukla-Ramechhap (15. minutes) as per the scheduled itinerary.
- Permit / Garbage Management Fee: Lukla VDC entrance permit, NMA Climbing permit of Mera 6476m peak, Makalu Barun National Conservation area entry, and other required permits and Garbage Management fees.
- Expedition Stuffs Transportation: Necessary equipment Transportation for all Members and Staff From Kathmandu-Ramechhap-Kathmandu: Overland by Car, Jeep, or Van as per group size.
Ramechhap-Lukla-Ramechhap (by Air) and from Lukla to Base camp (By Porters / Yak or Donkey).
- While returning: Mera high camp to Lukla (By Yak / Porter or Donkey ) and Lukla to Ramechhap (by small aircraft) and Ramechhap-Kathmandu per scheduled itinerary.
- Member Luggage: Up to 15.Kg per member for personal baggage during the trek carried by the porter. NOTE: baggage more than 15.Kg p/p will charge extra additional cost at the Airport.
- Lodging & Fooding: 3 meals a day (BLD, including Tea & Fresh Coffee) along with accessible accommodation at the Lodge/Tea house/Camp during the Trek.
- Fresh Fruits: Seasonal Fresh Fruits carried by our staff will be provided every day as far as possible during trekking.
During Climbing / Ascent MERA 6476m Peak and Ski:
- Mera High Camp: Each Member VE-25 North-Face individual Tent Foam Mattresses and pillows per member will be provided (1 Tent for Two members). As well tents for Climbing Sherpa Guide staff including all necessary climbing equipment for climbing Sherpa will be provided which is required during the Ascent of the mountain.
- High Food and Climbing Meals: During tented accommodation at High camp and above during ascent High Food / Hot Korean noodle Ramen soup / Hot Tea and Coffee will be provided.
- Oxygen and Mask Regulator: During a stay at Mera High camp One Oxygen Cylinder and Mask Regulator (for emergency use only) will be provided.
- Climbing Rope & Equipment: During climbing and Mera ascent necessary climbing summit Ropes and necessary climbing equipment for climbing Sherpa guide will be provided.
- Skiing Gears and Equipment: Required necessary Ski Boots, Ski set, Ski Crampons, Ski Skin, Ski Pole, and Helmet will be provided. NOTE: The Skiing equipment we are providing is for commercial use so to avoid any skin disease suggested to bring your own Skiing equipment if you have any ..
- XTREME CLIMBERS Equipments (Duffel Bags, Sun Hat: Xtreme Climbers 90. ltr (Trekkers 2. member 1. Bag) and 120. liter (1 for each Expedition member) Duffel bags will be provided which need to be returned back after the trip. Sun Hat will be provided as souvenirs to everyone joining XTREME CLIMBER'S Trip.
- Porter: 2 members 1 Porter (30. kg) Lukla-Mountain-Lukla NOTE: Baggage more than 15. kg per person will charge an extra additional cost as well as require of extra porters or Yak to carry extra weight then schedule the itinerary.
- Staff Salary and allowance: All Nepalese staff, Climbing Sherpa Climbing + Daily wages including Porters and Yak daily wages, salaries, equipment, and food.
- Insurance: Medical & Emergency Heli rescue Insurance for all involved staff during trek and expedition.
- Communication:
- Thuraya SAT Phone for emergency use will be provided (For members $ 5 per minute) will be charged.
- Radio Walkie Talkie: Radio Walkie Talkie will be provided for easy communication between Members and the Climbing Sherpa Guide during the Trekking / Climbing period.
- Medical kit Box /Map: A Comprehensive Medical kit bag will be carried by our staff for basic use only as the Trekking Route Map.
- Compliment by XTREME CLIMBERS: Japanese Full Body Therapy provided by a specialist which will be done At the end of the trip or before your flight back to home (Only for interested participants) so please let us know in advance for date booking.
- Farewell Dinner: Farewell Dinner organized by XTREME CLIMBERS in a Tourist standard restaurant.
- Airfare: International flight airfare (from and to Kathmandu).
- Nepal entry Visa fee: Nepal Visa fee USD 60 per person for 30 days (to be applied for 60 days USD 120).
- Sightseeing: Sightseeing around historical monuments and entrance fees.
- Extra night in Kathmandu and Lunch & Dinner: Extra night accommodation and Lunch & dinner during the stay in Kathmandu In case of early arrival or late departure, early return from Trekking / Expedition (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
- Insurance: Travel and high altitude insurance, accident, medical & emergency evacuation.
- Rescue Evacuation: Medical Insurance and emergency rescue evacuation costs if required. (Rescue, Repatriation, Medication, Medical Tests, and Hospitalization costs.)
