The Tsho Rolpa Trek offers an immersive journey through the heart of the Rolwaling mountain ranges in the central Himalayas, flanked by the towering peaks of Mt. Located in the northeastern part of Dolakha district, Bagmati Province, Nepal, Tsho Rolpa Lake is nestled at the base of the Rolwaling mountains, covering an area of 1.65 square kilometers and surrounded by lofty peaks reaching an altitude of 4540 meters. Known as "Lake of Rolwaling Valley" in the Sherpa dialect, locals also refer to it as Chhuygima Pokhari due to its color-changing water.
This trek presents an enchanting adventure tracing the Tama Koshi River to its source, offering encounters with diverse flora and fauna within the Gaurishankar Conservation Area. Trekking through small Sherpa villages, which practice Tibetan Buddhism, adds cultural richness to the journey. The Rolwaling mountain range boasts majestic peaks like Gauri Shankar, Melungtse, Dorje Lakpa, Tashi Lapcha Peak, and Yalung Ri, enhancing the trekking experience with unparalleled beauty and panoramic vistas.
The Tsho Rolpa Trekking Route remains relatively secluded, preserving its authentic topography and atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for those seeking off-the-beaten-path adventures in Nepal. Beginning at Simigaun, situated at 2020 meters altitude in the Rolwaling Valley, the route ascends through Sherpa villages along the Tama Koshi River. As the trek progresses, it traverses tropical and subtropical forests, gradually transitioning into semi-alpine and alpine terrain beyond Bedding. The trail features rocky landscapes, glacial moraines, high passes, and glacial lakes, culminating at Tsho Rolpa Lake, surrounded by Langdung Himal to the north and Rolwaling glaciers to the east.
This remote trekking route offers an authentic wilderness experience away from commercial trails. Detailed trekking maps guide adventurers from Kathmandu towards the Dolakha district via the Araniko Highway, descending to the Tamakoshi River and tracing its course to reach the lake.

- Arrival & Departure: Airport - Hotel transfers – Airport (Pick Up and Drop).
- Hotel Accommodation In Kathmandu: 2 nights 4* Standard Hotel in Kathmandu on bed & breakfast Basis-Single bed Room.
- Permit: Trekking Permit (Gaurishankar Conservation Area Permit.) TIMS card (Trekking Information Management System).
- Trekking Sherpa Guide: Highly experienced government-licensed trekking Sherpa Guide during the entire trekking period
- Member + Staff transportation (Domestic Bus):
Member + Xtrem Climbers Staff Kathmandu-Chhet chhet-Kathmandu by Bus, as per itinerary.
NOTE: Required of another 4. 4-wheeler jeep will cost an extra charge.
- Insurance: Medical & Emergency rescue Insurance for all involved staff during the trekking period.
- Trekking Route Map. A Trekking Route Map will be provided.
- Accommodation: Accommodation at the best possible hotel/lodge/guest house during the entire trekking period.
- Member Luggage: Up to 30.Kg max (2. member 1 Porter) for personal baggage during the trek carried by Porters/Mules.
NOTE: Required extra Porter will be charged additionally with the appropriate cost.
- Lodging & Fooding: 3 meals a day (BDL, including tea and coffee) along with accessible accommodation at Hotel/Lodge/Tea house
- Porter: NOTE: 1. Porter for two members (30. kg max) will be provided.
- Staff Salary and allowance: Equipment allowances and wages for all Nepalese staff & porters, daily wages, Trekking Sherpas Guide, including equipment, food & clothing as per program.
- Communication: Thuraya Satellite phone carried by a guide for emergency communication. (SAT Phone available to clients at a cost of $5. USD per minute).
- Comprehensive Medical Kit: A comprehensive medical kit Box will be provided for Nepali emergency use only.
- TAX and Office Charges: Our service charge and government Taxes.
Cost Excludes
- Airfare: International flight airfare (from and to Kathmandu).
- Nepal entry Visa fee: The Nepal Visa fee is USD $ 60 per person for 30 days (to be applied for 60 days (USD $ 120).
- Lunch & Dinner: Lunch & dinner during the stay in Kathmandu (also in case of an earlier return from Trekking / Expedition than the scheduled itinerary).
- Extra night in Kathmandu and During Trek: Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu & Pokhara. In case of early arrival or late departure, early return from Trekking / Expedition (due to any reason) then the scheduled itinerary.
- Insurance: Travel and high altitude insurance, accident, medical & emergency evacuation.
- Rescue Evacuation: Medical Insurance and emergency rescue evacuation cost if required. (Rescue, Repatriation, Medication, Medical Tests, and Hospitalization costs.)
- Personal Expenses: Telephone, Internet, battery recharge, Hot shower, Laundry, any Alcoholic beverages & soft drinks (during the trek and in Kathmandu but we will serve all kinds of beverages for members in base camp), and also Clothing, Packing Items or Bags, Personal Medical Kit, Personal Trekking /Climbing Gears.
- Filming: Special Filming, Camera, and Drone permit fee.
- Internet Service: Internet services are not included in this cost.
- Tips: Calculate some tips for the entire trekking staff.
- Extra: Any extra expenses arising out of various/unforeseen situations like natural calamities, landslides, political disturbances, strikes, changes in Government regulations, Personal climbing gears, or any other services or activities, which are not mentioned in the itinerary.
