The journey from Syabru Besi follows the Langtang river eastward until reaching Kyanching Gompa (3,049m). Approximately 5 km south of Kyanching Gompa lie the peaks of Naya Kanga (5,846m) and, to the southeast, Ponggen Dopku (5,930m). The surroundings of Kyanching Gompa are adorned with majestic peaks such as Mt Langtang Lirung (7,245m) to the west, Yala peak to the north, Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Urkeinmang (6,387m), Loenpo Gang (6,979m), and Kangchenpo to the northeast. Kyanching Gompa hosts a small Buddhist monastery and a cheese factory initiated in 1955 by the Swiss Association for Technical Assistance.
