Standing at an elevation of 6,186 m / 20,296 ft, Opened to climbing in 2002 Kyajo Ri Peak is a semi-technical 6000m peak located in between Thame and Gokyo valley. Kyajo Ri involves steep slopes and prior knowledge of Roped travel, Ice / Rock climbing, and Crampon techniques, and ice Axe arrest is required. First ascent by a Franco / British team the Commercial Kyajo Ri climbing route is through the southwest ridge. But can also be attempted from the northeast face. Climbing the Kyajo Ri route has fewer hazards such as rockfalls or avalanches as compared to other routes. The climb involves mixed climbing of rock, snow, and ice on steep pitches in a few sections.
Xtreme Climbers Kyajo-Ri 6,186m Peak Climbing itinerary begins with a spectacular mountain flight from Kathmandu-Lukla & continually trekking along the Dudh Kosi ("The Milky River ''). After crossing the Namche Bazar we will gradually make our ascent to Machhermo (4,470m) and Gokyo Lake (Surface area 196.2 hectares) (485 acres) (4,790m) and climb the famous Gokyo Ri (5,360m) Peak to catch the 360* a spectacular view of the high Himalayas range includes Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Makalu (8,481m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Cho-yu (8201m) and many surrounding peaks. Continuing our path and leaving behind The valley of Fifth Lake we will keep continuing ascending till reaching the top of Ranjo-La Pass (5,360m), A breathtaking panoramic 360* viewpoint of the world's highest  Mt. Everest 8,848m, Lhotse 8,516m, Makalu 8,585m, Cho-Oyu 8,201m. and other outstanding mountains as Ama Dablam 6,812m, Kongde at 6,187m, Thame Peak, Thamserku at 6,626m, and Khagtega at 6,782m. Ngozomba Glacier, the largest glacier of the Himalayas is one of the major attractions of Gokyo Valley, which can be seen all the way from Cho Oyu Peak to Dole. After several clicks at the top of Renjo-La we will slowly start to descend and trek to Thame, “The village of world-class climbers' '. And to the hidden valley of Kyajo Kharka accessed via the village of Mende. Setting up our Base camp placed in a secluded hanging valley at 4500m, The climb itself Kyajo Ri 6,186m utilizes Two camps, C1 (5,300m) and is reached by crossing a rough moraine. From C2 we will cross an easy-angled glacier and steep ascend screw and rock to arrive at C2 on a snowy col. Starting from C2, the route to the summit follows snow slopes of 50° to 55°, climbed at Scottish Grade II, under typical conditions. There is a rock wall which must be overcome and the summit is pointy and exposed. Compared to the neighboring famous surrounding peaks and due to its technical climbing difficulty Kyojo Ri 6186m is under the list of less climbed Kyajo Ri provides the thrill of climbing a 6000m peak in a pure full-blown expedition climbing peak in Nepal’s Himalaya.
