Mt. Kanchenjunga actually pronounced and spelled as ‘Kanchendzonga’ means five jewels of snow peaks in the Tibetan language, the mountains across the border in Sikkim are worshiped as one of the holy mountains where mountaineers cannot climb right up to its main top is summit as the top regarded as the abode of god and holy spirits. The five jewels or treasures are Gold-Silver-Precious Stones, its Grain, and the Holy Scriptures which refer to five adjoining peaks of Kanchenjunga.

The main summit stands as the world's third highest mountain at 8,586 m and 28,169 ft high and the highest peak within the Nepal Himalayan range. A stunning peak of great beauty was first climbed in 1955 by a British Expedition led by the late Sir George Band from Nepal and from Sikkim side by Indian Expeditions in 1982. In 1979 British Mountaineer Pete Boardman stated that the trek to its base of Kanchenjunga was the most beautiful he had ever undertaken. It is a strong contender for “The most beautiful adventurous walk and climb in the world.” A trek and climb to Mt. Kanchenjunga is an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Himalayas where the scale of the mountains and valley is difficult to comprehend.

The western limit runs from the Jongsang La down the Gingsang and Kangchenjunga glaciers and the rivers of Ghunsa and Tamur. Kanchenjunga rises about 20 km (12 mi) south of the general alignment of the Great Himalayan range about 125 km (78 mi) east-south-east of Mount Everest as the crow flies. South of the southern face of Kanchenjunga runs the 3,000–3,500 m (9,800–11,500 ft) high Singalila Ridge that separates Sikkim from Nepal and northern West Bengal From the summit catch views of Mt. Everest (8,848m / 29, 028ft) Lhotse (8,516 m-24,940 ft), world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27, 766 ft) Mt. Baruntse (7,160 m), with many other smaller unnamed peaks.

After a great time heading towards North Kanchenjunga base camp at Pang Pema for our ascent to the world's 3rd highest Mt. Kanchenjunga with its massive range of peaks. Mt. Kanchenjunga is a massive mountain range located in the North East Himalaya belt straddling the border between the Eastern belt of Nepal and Sikkim (a small North East State of India).

After a most daring climb heading back to Kathmandu with a drive and flight from Bhadrapur after concluding an adventure of a lifetime experience on Mt. Kanchenjunga Expeditions.

  • Climbing any mountain especially 8000m above is tough but highly rewarding as well. So, do prepare yourself Psychologically and Physically to withstand all possible hazards that may come across your path during the mountaineering journey.
  • The expedition is EXTREMELY Challenging but worth it.  Before the summit push, we will have enough time at the Base Camp where our supremely talented climbing Sherpa guide will train you very well to be in the Himalayas by providing you with all technical know-how and techniques.
  • The summit lies at a higher altitude and can cause altitude sickness to anyone attempting the summit push. But proper acclimatization, enough Oxygen which will be carried and reserved at higher camps for emergency use and support/assistance by our high altitude climbing Sherpa Guide will help you go through to reach the summit of your dream mountain. Above the higher camps, we will always have extra bottles of oxygen in case of emergencies. This is why one must go on an expedition to any of the 7 thousand before heading to any 8000m. This will not only help you gain experience in the high altitude but also familiarize you with all the gears and equipment while handling extremely cold temperatures, gaining great crampon skills on and on the rock, snow, ice, rappelling with a pack on, and using ascenders and jumars on a fixed-line. Along with tolerance at a high altitude, you need strength, endurance, and strong cardiovascular conditioning.

NOTE: Prioritize your training efforts with the following techniques assuming you are in good health and injury-free;

01. Climbing Conditioning: Uphill climbing with a backpack, walking and staircase climbing

02. Strength training for lower body and core

03. Cardiovascular Training: Include both aerobic and anaerobic workouts with and without pack-weight

04. Flexibility Training: Include stretches for overall body
